Nichelle Nichols was born on 28 December 1932 in Robbins, Illinois. After pursuing a career in singing and dancing since her teenage days, she got into acting. In 1966, she landed the role as Lieutenant Uhura that made her world-famous. Nichols has since been a role model for generations. She died on 30 July 2022 of natural causes. Her talent, her commitment and her kindness will never be forgotten.
